Hey,My computer recently had to be restored to factory settings because the hardrive completely went. I don't actually know what happened. Well anyway its fine now. When The Sims 3 Game Launcher told me my game needed to be updated, I got this message at theend: The Installed version of the application could not be determined. The Setup will now Terminate. Heres a picture:This is happening for everything I try to download, update, etc.InstallShield won't work at ALL.I don't think this is a virus, malware, etc.
Because the only things I downloaded were an 'Update' of InstallShield which DIDN'T WORK and 7Zip which didn't actually download due to this problem. Also InstallShield is the ONLY thing gone.PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!Emma.

Last year we bought BobCAM V5 for Solidworks - 3D Mill Standard. I've been using it to make some pretty fancy parts, no rocket science, just basic 3D machining on our Fadal. Some individual parts have 30+ distinct feature groups, it's a lot to keep track of. One of BobCAM's significant weaknesses is how flakey it is when geometry changes, and even when you do something that accidentally forces reselecting unchanged geometry. Toolpaths flip to the wrong side of the part line, and Z references are lost. A trivial dimension change can mean spending 2 hours reselecting the geometry for every feature and visually previewing and verifying every single the toolpath looks correct. It also crashes frequently.BobCAM doesn't answer questions about what bugs may have been fixed in V6.Figure another year of this and the wasted time would pay for a $10K product.Wondering if anyone is using V6 and has observed a noticeable improvement in any of the shortcomings?
I can't see how anyone whose time is worth anything would put up with this. Also wondering what more mature basic 3D CAM options exist for Solidworks. Figure we could justify up to $5K, well out of the hobby/free products but with luck in reach of a 3D package from one of the more mature vendors.thanks.
